My Wish List...

Heyy!

Okay, I know I have been doing a load of really girly posts, but nothing interesting or important is in my mind at the moment. I only really watch the news during term time because I have it on while I'm getting ready, and that usually gives me food for thought, but recently I have been having to find random things to think about.

Through out my summer my main pieces of entertainment have consisted of:

  • Facebook - How else am I going to keep up with what my mates are doing? Wait actually go out and see them... do be serious!
  • You Tube - I finally got through all my subscriptions, but for some reason they keep coming up saying I haven't watched them...
  • Spending time with Dan - Need I say more. I could go all soppy, but we all no that is not a sight we want to see.
  • Seeing Katysan! - Every girl needs her best friend!
  • Reading Blogs - I have found a new love, and that is beauty blogs, and these are what have inspired my wish list, mainly because they have so many gorgeous items that they have reviewed that are just to expensive for me, so I'll have to keep on wishing!
So you can see why I have developed a wish list from my last bullet point and also from if you have read my previous blog entry. As you can probably guess the majority of this will most likely be make up, and considering i've just spent the past 2 hours clearing out all of my "regular" make up, I think I'm allowed to dream about fresh, new, shiny stuff.

In My Imaginary Shopping Bag I Want...

Ciaté Nail Polish: Cookies and Cream

If I am honest, I would love any colour in this nail varnish, as I have seen it reviewed many times. However, I have seen this colour reviewed on one of the blogs I have been talking about recently. Seeing it on made me want it a lot, and you have no idea how tempted I am to buy this, but it has what I class a steep price tag... £9.00. I do believe you pay for quality but £9.00 for a 16 year old is a steep price for a nail varnish, so I may have to keep wishing.

Illamasqua Nail Varnish: Top Coat

I really, really, REALLY want to try a new top coat as I find my Collection 2000 one very gloopy, if I had my way I would use this one. I have seen so many brilliant reviews about these nail varnishes and again they have a steep price, £12.50, but now I have developed a saying that I have been using for a few years now:
When I'm rich I will [enter un-obtainable object here]
I'm always thinking on the positive side.

Benefit Make-up: BADgal Lash Mascara

I got a sample of this in a magazine. £14.50. I want it. END OF.

There is so much more I want I just don't have the time or the patience to list it all and I really don't want this to turn into a blog about beauty products that I want; i.e. a beauty blog. I will be trying to get back to the more important issues as soon as I get back to school which is the 3rd of september. My next blog will probably be about sixth form or my results, something academic.

Questions for today:

What is on your wish list? [it doesn't have to be makeup related]

Do you think my list really is un-obtainable?

Do you think I should buy the Ciaté nail polish?

Hope you all enjoyed this post, I promise more important and less girly topics will be up soon. Hope everyone has had an awesome summer as it's almost over *sad faces*

Love

Nail Varnish Blogs

Heyy Everyone,

I am slightly obsessed with painting my nails as my hands are about the only thing on my body I like, I have tonnes of nails varnish varying in colours and brands, but I am always on the look out for more. This is when I heard about Nail Blogs and people reviewing different nails varnish brands, I thought this was a great idea so I checked it out, and yes the nail varnishes are beautiful but when i looked on this online stores, the prices were so expensive.

At the moment I use relatively cheap brands, my favourite being Barry M which is very good for the price, and only own one relatively expensive nail varnish, an OPI one I got in New York, and yes the more expensive on works great, but i would love to see over peoples view on cheaper nail varnishes, especially own brands, like Superdrugs true colour.

This was really just a rant because its what's on my mind at the moment. I love painting my nails and would love to be able to afford all the high-end ones, but for the moment, I think I'll just stick to my cheap ones, at least it keeps my nails pretty :)

Here are some questions, if you use nail varnish.

What brands do you use?

What are your favourites?

What's you favourite colour for a nail varnish?

Which one: Glitter, Matte, Block Colour.

When shaping your nails, do you prefer rounded or squared tips?

Hope you have fun answering :)

Posting again soon.

Amyy.

Girly Days

Girls. They can be you best friend one minute an your enemy the next, but nothing stops the fun a girly day can bring. Sharing gossip, doing nails, having your hair done and experimenting with make up. Nothing can bring girls closer. Even though some girls may not do the whole GIRL thing, there can't be many who would deny a good conversation. Good girly days often lead into good girly nights, aka the well known Sleep Over. DVD's are essential for this! Takeaways are usually on the cars and a good old fashioned talk, followed by the sleepover tradition of no sleep.

Sleepovers for girls aren't just seen as a pointless way for girls to interact its also a way to build relationships up, to repair a damaged one or to cheer up your best friend. Girls would be at a loose end with no girl interaction in the form of girly days and nights. So when boys complain about girls gathering, think of how miserable we would be if we didn't, it certainly would not do them any favours

Stress and Pressure

Have you ever wondered whether parents do actually realise the stress that GCSE student are put under? We get it from all angles, Parents, Teachers, Family and even the government. Constantly we are hearing about exams getting easier. People always have someone to blame, if loads of students pass with A grades, then the exams are getting easier, they never seem to think that, possibly, just possibly, we are good at exams and know our stuff. To be honest, I would love to see some adults take the exams that we do and do all of the coursework to see the pressure and stress we are put under. I also think that this pressure is unnecessary, students are having breakdowns at the mere thought of an exam, but when they get in there and sit it, it seems to pass by easily and stress free. I may be wrong, and stress could be a fantastic way to make us achieve our best, but is it really worth it when it could be damaging our well being, and possibly putting us off further education because of the stress?

Ages in Relationships

When you look at a couple in the 30's, it would never cross your mind that there was an age difference? It wouldn't matter if the woman was 36 and the man 33 because three years is so little at that age, but it is so different as teenagers. For some reason it is "frowned upon" if a girl likes someone who is more than two years younger than her, I mean even two years is stretching it. However, it never seems to be much of a problem if boys like girls who are years younger, and some would argue that it is to do with maturity, but in my opinion love shouldn't have an age. Take my parents for example, my mum met my dad when she was 27 and him 24, and they were in love until the day he died, and mum still loves him, his age didn't matter to, so why should it matter to anyone else? When I asked her if the age difference ever effected them she said no, so I asked if they would have got together when she was 16 and him 13, and she said probably not. If they had met just eleven years earlier, they may never have fallen in love, and all because of this stupid age hype. I've never really though about it until now, but age really shouldn't matter, and if people don't like it, well that's their problem.

31.05.09 - Girls

Have you ever noticed that girls seem to take some insults in their stride very easily? For example Whore isn't a nice word, yet as a student I have seen many people, my self included, be called a whore. Most of these people seem to think nothing of it and smile it away, maybe this is their way of coping with the insult, or maybe they secretly like the attention. It may not be a full-compliment, as most of the time it is meant as an insult, but it seems to be somewhat of a badge to wear. Another example is the bizarre attention gained from breasts. No matter how many times someone has commented on mine, I always seem to feel proud of them because they are giving me attention and it makes me feel good. Like I am being noticed. This may sound shallow, but don't all girls need to be the centre at some point, to feel as if they are being noticed, as well as all of the stick thin models of today. So after a very well researched project, and the fact that I am one myself, I have come to the conclusion that girls need attention, no matter how small, they just want to feel as if they matter, and sometimes the way to do it is shallow, but we live in a shallow world, and I don't think there is any turning back.
